about

Hello, my name is Demetre Manhertz and this is my composition for my literature class assignment called Senior Project. Senior Project is an assignment at Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia where seniors in their literature class must choose a topic of their interest and complete a project that consist of a portfolio, presentation, and a research paper. After the students complete those parts of the project, they must also come up with two ways to show and share what they learned through their product and community service. I have had the privilege of studying with Demetrius French Spencer at the Art Institute of Atlanta and completed my project with the topic of audio production. During the project, I sat in and learned on how it felt to go through the audio production process in a studio. I learned all the necessary equipment needed for recording a piece of audio and had the opportunity to listen many of the great and talented student-artists at the Art Institute. When I got the chance to record at the Art Institute, I got some of my friends from the music program over at Wheeler High School to come over and play the parts. It was a wonderful experience and we had a great time. So this recording is my way of sharing that great experience with you.

The composition was inspired by the astonishingly talented film score composer, Hans Zimmer. The track that I listened to complete the composition was Tornado from the Man of Steel soundtrack. The piece is mixed with parts of Hans Zimmer's soundtrack and my own little touch of composing. I do not take ownership of any of Hans' work at all in any way, shape, or form.
